Border Collie Clubs in Canada
- Canadian Border Collie Association (Registry) — The registry for purbred Border Collies in Canada, incorporated under the Animal Pedigree Act.
- BC Stock Dog Association — “Promoting the use and training of working stock dogs.”
- Alberta Stock Dog Association (A.S.D.A.) — The A.S.D.A.sponsors over a dozen sanctioned trials throughout Alberta each year and promotes clinics as a key step in developing your dog.
- Saskatchewan Stock Dog Association — “The Saskatchewan Stockdog Association promotes the proper training of stockdogs, their humane handling, and is dedicated to the welfare of both dogs and livestock.”
- Ontario Border Collie Club — Formed in September 1984, near King City, Ontario, the primary objective of the club is to promote the traditional herding ability of the Border Collie by holding trials and training clinics. The club also encourages obedience and other non-traditional uses of the dog.

- American Border Collie Association (ABCA) (Registry) — “The ABCA exists to register, maintain and verify the pedigrees of Border Collies, to promote and foster in North America the breeding, training and distribution of reliable working Border Collies, and to promote stockdog trials and exhibitions.”
- Border Collie Society of America (BCSA) — The mission of the BCSA is to preserve and enhance the integrity of the Border Collie through promoting responsible breeding and ownership, to preserve the working attributes and intelligence of the breed, to prevent exploitation and abuse of the breed, and promote a spirit of encouragement and learning for the membership in all Border Collie activities, including but not limited to: herding, obedience, agility, conformation, tracking, companion dogs, flyball, and therapy dogs.
- United States Border Collie Handler’s Association, Inc. (USBCHA) — The sanctioning body for sheepdog trials throughout the United States and Canada.
- The American Herding Breed Association (AHBA) — Founded in 1986, the AHBA was set up to help provide information in response to inquiries from those interested in herding and the herding breeds. The focus of the AHBA program is on practical herding work. The scope of the AHBA involves dogs of all herding breeds including rare breeds, as well as multi-purpose breeds which also have been used for herding, and herding breed mixes.
