The XL Bully is a a taller variety of the Standard American Bully and shares the same build, body type and breed type as the Standard American Bully.

Breed Profile

The American Bully XL is a taller variety of the Standard American Bully and gives the impression of great strength, with a muscular body and blocky head.

The American Bully is a companion breed with high willingness to please and bond with his family. Despite their powerful and perhaps intimidating appearance, the American Bully is a gentle, friendly dog both with strangers and other animals. Human or dog aggression is very uncharacteristic of the breed.

In appearance, the American Bully has a distinct large, broad head. Ears are set high and can be natural or cropped. The breed has a muscular, slightly arched neck with minimal to no loose skin. The American Bully has a massive, bulky body type with a broad deep chest, giving the appearance of great power. The ideal American Bully is athletic and has the ability to do well in many dog sports.

The American Bully has received a lot of interest and popularity as of late. Often, there is a misconception that the American Bully is a “Pitbull”. The American Pit Bull Terrier is certainly a contributor to creating this breed, along with American Bulldogs, American Staffordshire Terriers and other Bulldogs. The stimulus to create this breed was bred from the desire to have a physically large and capable dog, yet not as gamey or aggressive as some other breeds. The desired result was achieved with the American Bully as it is an amazing companion animal that is strong, gentle and docile with family and other animals. The breed is recognized by the American Bully Kennel Club and United Kennel Club.
